A camp ministry’s success requires hard work from many gifted people! Every summer, The Wilds recruits summer staff to serve thousands of campers, youth leaders, and churches for 10 weeks of camp. An enormous, high-energy undertaking, summer camp ministry is an unforgettable experience that may leave a lifelong impact on you as you seek to love and serve God and people.
Looking for a life-changing summer ministry?
We hire approximately 300 college-aged young people to fully staff our 10 weeks of summer ministry to juniors, teens, sponsors, and families. Half of our summer positions are counselors and the other half are operational staff. As each type of position fills a vital role, we couldn’t have summer camp without either one!
Summer staff receive one week of intense staff training and then 10 weeks of hands-on, practical experience. Come join us at The Wilds for a transformative summer!
How to join our summer team

Apply
Our application is a simple, online process. In order for an applicant to be considered, they must meet at least one of the following criteria.
- Completed a year of college OR
- Worked a year after high school OR
- Completed our CIT (Camper-In-Training) Leadership Program

Prepare
Summer staff receive pre-arrival assignments to prepare their hearts and equip them to counsel campers with God’s Word. Assignments include Scripture memory, reading resources, and MinistrySafe training.

Train
Before camp begins, we dive headfirst into one week of intensive staff training covering all aspects of camp ministry, from operations to program to counseling.

Serve
Equipped and prayerful, we launch into ten dynamic weeks of summer camp! God is on a mission to redeem and restore people, and we each have the chance to play a role in sharing the hope of Jesus Christ with every camper we come into contact with. Audio/Visual
Some experience with A/V equipment required
The A/V guys set up, run, and tear down audio, video, and lighting for multiple services and events daily while serving the needs of speakers, program, and music staff.
Cool Beans
These ladies serve classic and creative hot and cold drinks with a smile to campers and sponsors in a fast-paced coffee shop environment.
Counselor
Our counselors live with, enjoy, and invest in teens and juniors by giving them gospel hope, biblical help, and handing them off to their local church with the humility of Christ.
Craft Shop
The Craft Shop girls assist campers in purchasing and creating crafts, answer questions, inspire creativity, and keep the Craft Shop neat and clean.
Kitchen
The kitchen crew gets to experience discipleship in the setting of a commercial kitchen while preparing and serving 3 meals a day for 1,500 campers, sponsors, and staff.
Landscape
Our team of landscape guys keeps the campsite neat, safe, attractive, and ready to be enjoyed by mowing grass, pruning bushes, and attending to other landscape needs.
Laundry
The laundry ladies provide a welcoming, comfortable experience by laundering linens for 70+ hotel-style rooms while serving other camp departments with their laundry needs.
Lifeguard
Ability to obtain lifeguard certification required
The lifeguard crew helps campers safely enjoy our Lake, waterfalls, and other water activities while participating in intensive training to further hone their lifeguarding skills.
Nurse
Nursing degree required
These skilled ladies administer first aid, dispense medications, maintain records, and provide other basic medical care for campers and staff.
Maintenance
The maintenance guys assist The Wilds full-time maintenance team with scheduled upkeep of critical infrastructure and daily requisitions, as well as assisting other departments with various needs.
Office
The Office ladies answer questions, distribute mail, and field phone calls for campers and staff while gaining experience using both Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
Operations
Our operations crew ensures the camp facilities are clean, set up, and ready for camper use. They also serve various other departments with miscellaneous tasks.
The Snack
These cheerful ladies refresh campers through fun, enjoyable, cold and hot treats with a Christlike spirit in a variety of locations across the campsite.
Waitress
The waitresses set, serve, and clear meals for 1,500 people promptly, cheerfully, and efficiently 3 times a day. They also help out in retail locations and with other tasks as needed.
