Seasonal Staff

An in-depth ministry experience

No matter where God leads you in life, serving on The Wilds seasonal staff is sure to give you an in-depth ministry experience that will be helpful in your future occupation. Very different from the summer staff experience, seasonal staff is a longer-term opportunity for ministry, discipleship, hard work, and fun during our non-summer season from August to May.

Seasonal Staff

Looking for a short-term ministry opportunity?

Each year The Wilds hires a small group of young adults (college-age or recent college graduates) to serve as paid seasonal staff members for nine months during our non-summer season, August to May. Through the unique benefits of camping, seasonal staff members will develop their interpersonal skills, leadership qualities, and philosophy of biblical ministry.

What to Expect

The three goals for seasonal staff

Know camp

Seasonal staff members are the behind-the-scenes hands and feet that keep the camp operating, serving everywhere from the dishwash room to the main office to the Zip shed to Cool Beans—and every place in between! When we don’t have campers, our seasonal staff help clean, maintain, and prep our big campsite so that we can continue to serve campers well.

Know and develop gifts

Serving at The Wilds will challenge staff members mentally, physically, socially, and spiritually. They can experience the joy of serving God in a fast-paced environment with a group of like-minded young people.

Know God

It is the desire of The Wilds that all of our staff grow in knowledge of the Bible and closer to their God. Seasonal staff members will receive encouragement and advice from full-time staff members and have various opportunities to share God’s love with campers.

Opportunities

Learn. Grow. Serve.

As a seasonal staff member, you will inevitably have opportunities to build relationships with full-time staff, interact with and serve campers of every age, grow spiritually in a “greenhouse” environment with resources and people who can help you deepen your walk with the Lord, and create lasting memories and friendships.

Applicants need teachability, strong work ethic, and flexibility to serve however, whenever, and wherever needs arise. This nine-month experience will help you learn how to be a Christlike servant wherever God places you.

If this opportunity sounds like you, we would love to have you apply!
